Question Paper Analysis

Consider the following statements

Questions under this type of heading –

may be expected 5 to 20.

It contains two definitions which are chosen from very important & special topic so that every one must have known them.

This type of question really play a vital role, since they kill the spirit and confidence level of good aspirant by creating confusion so killing time.

SO KNOWING ANSWER FOR ANY ONE OF THE TWO OPTIONS …

REALLY CREATES DANGEROUS SITUATION!

1. Consider the following statements :

1. Infant mortality rate takes into account the death of infants within a month after birth.

2. Infant mortality rate is the number of infant deaths in a particular year per 100 live births during that year.

Taken from Census facts and figures can located source to either Geography or Economy, where we expect a compulsory question from Census 2001.

It may be interconnected with Human Geography based on different parameters.

So it is compulsory to become thorough in Census 2001 and very imp is its analytical view. Comparison question is most likely. With respect to 2001 year and from the starting year. They can ask how much increase in i) population growth

ii) decinneal growth

etc., compared to 1991 Cesus or 1891 Census.

(Any one)

Correct Answer

1. Infant mortality rate takes into account the death of infants before reaching the age of one.

2. Infant mortality rate is the number of infant deaths in a particular year per 1000 live births during that year.

So understood where you could be googled?

Which of the above statements is/are correct?

(a) 1 only
(b) 2 only
(c) Both 1 and 2
(d) Neither 1 nor 2

This is the way to bring some twist to the well know fact. So the aspirant can be confused, if he knows any one of the definition. So that his decision to tick anyone, is surely delayed. Here knowing anyone also equally dangerous.

So read at least 5 States in imp parameters like

Population, Decadal Growth, Sex Ratio, Literacy, Urban-Rural Population, SC-SC population with respect to Union Territories also.

So, it became a big time consuming thing to learn,

BUT IT IS IMPORTANT.

Learn some Standard Census Definitions. Like

1. Mains workers is a person who works for at least 183 days in a year.

2. Marginal worker is a person who works for less than 183 days in a year.

They may give this and confuse you with ‘options’.

Write parallel questions for this.

Caution : Don’t mug up the only ‘facts’ from Census 2001.

See here they not asked which is the highest / lowest state with infant mortality rate…which is expected!

But the definition..so concentration is on the Basic Knowledge…So first become a sincere school boy.
